My name is Brett Anderson, and welcome to OptimalSelfHealth.com where the aim is to help you to optimise your health.
I graduated from the University of Sydney with a combined degree in Mechanical Engineering (Biomedical) and Science (Biochemistry). I have been working as an Engineer designing and manufacturing implantable medical devices, and have been enjoying some great success in my day job.
Several things have struck me while working in the medical device industry, and I want to help you to take stock of your own health now, to help you avoid ever needing an implantable device in the future.
Prevention is Better Than Cure
I am an active person, and I enjoy all kinds of sports. I also have a very keen interest in nutrition, Modern Nutrition to be exact. I studied all sorts of metabolic pathways during my university days, and I have recently been using this knowledge and applying it to my own health. I have an intrinsic thirst for knowledge, and in my spare time, you will find me reading about all things health.
The engineering and scientific knowledge that I have gained are indispensable for me when managing my own health. I want to help a wider audience by making these tools available to you, and help you take control of your own health.
One final theme that you will note throughout my posts is the topic of sustainability. This word has been used to saturation in some contexts, but I think we all share the responsibility for leaving behind a healthy and sustainable world for future generations. I believe that our health choices today will have a lasting impact on future generations. Example one: Overuse of Antibiotics = Drug Resistant Diseases. Example two: Use of large quantities of precious metals in implantable medical devices = loss of precious metal material resources.
I would love to hear from you if you would like to discuss anything health related, including self health techniques, sustainable health, holistic health or any general feedback on this site. Please email me at: firstname.lastname@example.org
Thank you for your time, welcome to Optimal Self Health, and I look forward to sharing your journey to optimal health.
